During Fr. Eric’s final weekend at St. Joseph the Worker in Oshawa on June 26/27, 2021, he reflects on the parallel stories of the hemorrhaging woman and Jairus’ daughter (Mk 5:21-43). Topics include the temptation to put limitations on future possibilities based on our experience of the past, the importance of choosing hope over despair in the present moment, and the transformative effect of kindness in key moments of weakness and vulnerability.
Fr. Eric speaks also about the new crucifix installed over the altar at St. Joseph the Worker on June 24, 2021, focusing on how real beauty can lead us to contemplation and the importance of recovering the true symbolism of the Cross as a sign of the reality and power of God’s love.

Reflecting on the stories of Jesus walking on the water (Mt 14:22-34; Mk 6:45–53 and Jn 6:15-21) and Jesus being asleep in the midst of the disciples' boat (Mt 8:23–27; Mk 4:35–41 and Lk 8:22–25), Fr. Eric reflects on how to persevere through our personal storms.
Topics include Jesus appearing to us typically when we're reached our own personal limits, the offer of peace which is meant to persist in the midst of storms, and the importance of keeping our eyes fixed on Christ to do the works of God.
Other topics include the reality that our storms can often expose our hidden intentions and motivations; the nature of Christian hope; and importance of becoming familiar with the psalms, particularly as revealed to us through the Divine Office.
